And you seriously think Long is the answer to our prayers? I reckon even Murphy is more reliable than Longvat this stage! Sheridan likewise, natural finisher with a contentintal edge, we need more of that

In the presser Sheridan states he wanted to move a bit closer to home and coming from Cavan, the bright lights of Bialysrok is somewhere he always wanted to live

Plenty of regular flights from Warsaw to Dublin. Not so many from Cyprus and certainly not year round.

And it's a fair bit closer. The flight time is a few hours shorter and, at the level he is playing, the fact it is cheaper helps.

He seems like a lad who is willing to try new experiences. Fair play to him, a bit different from a career wandering around provincial towns of Britain.

Exactly. Sofia, Nicosia and Bialystok are at least more interesting than Stockport, Norwich and Birmingham.

Turned down offers from China and South Korea. He apparently lives his life in FIFA career mode.
You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"

Always interesting to see an Irish lad carve out a career for himself other than the tried and tested. Hopefully he can keep his scoring record up.
No thank you Turkish......I'm sweet enough

Would like to see more lads follow his lead

Will they be part of our international squad?

When Irish players go to leagues like Poland or Cyprus they are up against similar obstacles as players playing out of the LOI.
The general public don`t rate these leagues and our management team have little to no knowledge of them. They just aren`t on the radar.

So the only way a player is going to get international recognition playing in them is by performing to an outstanding level in Europe. That`s how 3 Dundalk players got into Ireland squads last year.

Omonia were knocked out in the 2nd qualifying round of the Europa league this season so that buried any chance Sheridan had to shine.

Jagiellonia are top of the Polish league so maybe they win it and he shines.
Hope that happens and best of luck to the lad.

I won the Player of the Century award thanks to the people.Pele was second. He also came second behind Aryton Senna as Brazil's greatest sportsman. The award FIFA gave Pele isn't worth sh*t - Maradona

But he probably isn't good enough and deep down he knows it himself, if he was still in Britain he would be with Walsall or Dundee. As you say, a move to a a league like Poland and one of the better teams there may see his profile rise and, should he succeed, may seem get a chance. Our dearth of options means he is probably being considered anyway, even if it is unlikely.

Or looked at from another perspective, most players with Walsall or Dundee wouldn't have the balls or wherewithal to play in Bulgaria or Poland. The road less travelled and all that.
