It's a waste what happened to him at international level, same with Long.

Simon Cox and Andy Keogh each got about 30 appearances.

Stokes deserved more time to show what he can do.

this is TRUE

Stokes is an absolute wastrel. Clearly has talent and has f**ked it away. I feel the good citizens of Burnley have been through enough without this clown being hoisted on them. Himself and Sean Dyche seem very similar characters too

Where did you hear that?

I'm not doubting you or anything but I can't find anything about it on Twitter or google news 15 hours after your post.

Would love if it did happen.

On a lot of Celtic sites etc. Dyche has been interested for a while, believed to have made an enquiry last summer. A few other championship clubs are interested too- Hull, Cardiff, Sheff Wednesday but word is Burnley. I would pay the train myself

Sheridan scored another goal last week and almost scored a an absoloute worldy from the centre circle just after the goal, deserves a chance in the upcoming freindly, he is abig target man who is scoring goals at a decent level, something we have been missing.

Class team goal.

Without a doubt, Sheridan should be in the squads a head of the likes of Cox, Stokes, Murphy and Doyle.

Still only 26 and has good finish on. Big strong, tall frame on him too. Could easily do the work MON wants Murphy to do, but can actual score goals and is a hell of a lot more mobile.

12 goals in 22 league games this season isnt too shabby either.

Hes been our only real representative in the CL / EL league in recent years also. Played very good games against Barca the season before last.

We have so few strikers coming through, we should be looking at him
You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"

Sheridan isn't up to international football, saw him a few times for Ireland and he was way off the pace.

Not intelligent enough for international football.

How many years ago was that. He has clearly improved a lot as most footballers do as they get older and fill out and have a lot more experience . The fact he played so well against bara last year in the nou camp would suggest to me he is up to international standard . your statement just shows how little you understand football as you say he played bad a few times years ago for Ireland he only has two caps ffs.

Stephen Ward played well against Germany, would you call him international standard? I certainly wouldn't.
