The roads up the top of Donegal are treacherous, something seriously has to be done, this is happening all too often.

RIP

Dunno Grazza, tis easy blame the roads. There will be an inquest into this, like all crashes that have fatalities, and the results won't be published for maybe a year or more. Most (not all)of these come to the same conclusion, drink combined with excessive speed. In this case, add in a bad road, road conditions and a car overloaded (therefore not enough seatbelts), draw your own conclusions.

We have cut road deaths by a higher percentage than any other EU country in the past 2 years, a lot of it is due to the drink driving laws and the new motorway infrastructure, but tis very hard to legislate for the above scenario. And for whatever reason, Donegal is a blackspot for it. If anything, you would think that the amount of fatalities on Donegal roads in the past decade alone would lead to a safer culture of driving, but the exact opposite seems to be the case.

Have to agree with this, I would do a fair amount of driving every month and the number of times I have been overtaken or seen somebody overtaking on practically a blind bend is unreal.
