Only 2 ways really, 1 as Sausy says check the timing cover for tippex or stickers and 2 check service history book.
What you driving these days horse?

05 Lexus IS200 Cool.

Pretty sure there is no mention of a timing belt change in the log book - because there was in around 70K on the clock when I bought it and I do remember from the last Lexus I had that it needed to be changed around the 70 to 80k mark.

So I should ask when belt was changed?

have a look yourself for the timing belt being changed. Plenty of mecanics will mark the engine with tipex noting when the belt was changed ie. TB70 - changed at 70k

It's 85k past it's replacement interval, knowing that engine I'd be amazed if it hasn't but worthwhile checking.

Speaking of which mycar will due a service and a belt change soon if you fancy a nixer Thumbs Up

Only spotting this now, thanks but i don't really have time to nixer with the new job, am flat out 6 days a week lately

Power steering belt needs adjustment. Also known as a fan belt Daithi, if you have some wd40 there spray it onto the belts and that ease the noise till you get it adjusted

Call into Marton Doolan on Edmonstown Rd, he'll plug a proper diagnostic kit into it for you. He's never charged me for it before. Given how much proper diagnostic equipment costs I wouldn't rely on an ipod app to much
