Why was your mechanic cleaning your engine with a power hose??

Said there was grease and oil on it and that a power hose would clean it up.  I cant be sure but I suspect he broke a clip which cause the water pipe to come into contact with the hot metal of the engine which ruptured it.

Oil and water don't mix. So the water wouldn't be effective.

He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

Maybe he thought the water would get under the oil and help lift it off.

Not only that but there is wiring, fuses, clips hoses etc. you're literally asking for trouble by blasting them all with a power washer

Folks, got the car serviced the other day and appeared to be nothing wrong with it. Driving home from work today and car stalled coming up to a roundabout. Eventually got it going again but when I got home noticed the bonnet was very hot.

Seemed  like there was no engine coolant in it. Bought some new stuff and filled it up. Coolant was between the min and max. Went for a 5 min drive there an hour ago and when I got home I noticed that it looked like the coolant was empty again.

Haven’t a clue about this kinda stuff so wondering, should the coolant level go down that fast or does it basically just circulate around the engine?
No, you’ve a leak. A coincidence I’d imagine with the timing of the service.
Bring it to a garage ASAP before you do damage to the car
Brought to the mechanic this morning and he said he couldn’t see a leak. He did notice foam where you put the coolant in. Opened it there before leaving work and seems fairly foamy

No it's a Ford Fiesta. Was filled up with coolant yesterday and completely empty this morning. Lad told me in work there's something you can buy to plug up any holes temporally? Like a coolant mixed with pieces of iron or something.

Mine was like that before, was a tiny pin sized hole in the pipe that was causing it. Took a bit of finding
