lads, no player is going to thrive for the Irish team because players are no allowed to thrive. We don’t play football, we don’t pass the ball or build attacks. The last “good” goal we scored was McClean vs Austria in Vienna where there were 2 intelligent passes and a really good finish at the end. Ireland don’t set up to play any sort of passing game. Under MON we’re playing an uglier version of Jack Charlton’s “put em under pressure” game.

The likes of Hendrick, Whelan, Houlihane and basically all of our players are playing at the high level they’re at because they excelled at not only the basics of the game which include passing and positional sense. Thise basics are being abandoned by MON. Hourihane is a good player and could be very important for Ireland but how the Irish team is set up is nothing short of scandalous and I’d say even if we had Xavi in midfield our tactical approach to games would make even him look crap. I don’t judge Irish players on their form for the national team, I judge them on their form for their clubs because that’s where they are allowed to play to their strengths and do their jobs properly.

Yeah could be compared to Doherty. There was / is loads of detail at club level and that is not there at international level.

frustrated with the set up, alluded to the other midfielders being annoyed christie was playing in midfield, they were feeling sorry for christie. said they have good players and a good squad if the right man comes in. said the rpeperation wouldnt be the same as club level and it was harder to play as a goalscoring midfielder.

Pretty much echoing Doherty.

Seems like when a few senior players left the wheels started to come off

Hourihane is a player I would look forward to seeing in a new system. I don’t believe he is the silver bullet, but he is an option and in the Matt Holland mode as a goal scorer.

Hopefully Glenn Whelan will get picked by the new manager! He hasn't retired O'Neill seemed to be the one retiring him

Hourihane seemed to tippy toe around the issues without wanting to stick the boot in. We didn't learn anything new from what we already know.

We learned they were talking about Kenny and Mick in the group and he has great time for him.

He also said the team are better than they are showing and a "all it needs is the right man to bring it out".

He also said there was loads of detail at club level and mentioned nothing about Ireland. It was more of what Doherty said without saying as much.

Replaying his interview on Off the Ball now.  Trying to be diplomatic but it's clear the training is a joke.
