Bad news from the FIFA front. Spain could be banned from the Euro 2008 finals which would leave a space for Norn Iron or, Jesus H Christ, England. Just when we thought our World was rosy and everything Italian was great, Fifa have to go and spoil it allCry

It'll be the North if it happens. As with Euro '92 Denmark got in due to the fact they finished behind Yugoslavia in their group.

Fifa warns Spain of possible ban
Fifa%20president%20Sepp%20Blatter
Blatter has sent out a strong warning
Spain may be banned from international competition if their government tries to intervene in the election process of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

Fifa president Sepp Blatter is unhappy with a rule forcing Spain's non-Olympic sporting federations to hold elections before the Beijing Games.

"Spain would not be able to play at Euro 2008 and their clubs wouldn't continue in Europe," he said.

"A confrontation like this is no good for football or for the government."

606: DEBATE

Greece escaped a lengthy ban from international competition prior to the 2002 World Cup because of their government's involvement in footballing matters.

They can invite anyone they want to replace Spain as long as it is not those English so-in-so's (sorry, I meant c**ts). Norn Iron should be the natural choice but given the pro-English stance by UEFA they just might bend the rules. Then, could we see the unusual site of us ROI fans campaigning for Norn Iron's inclusion???Wink

Problem is though we would need Germany and the Czech Republic to start messing around and get banned and then....Cyprus would get in!!!!!
