Longford looked for it from the start. A melee in the six yard box and they scored on the post with three UCD defenders at it. The UCD side raised their game to equalise but just before HT didn't clear a cross and McGlade was in at the far post. We didn't offer much and Longford took us apart late on McGlade again at the far post, right-back Shane Elworthy with a beautiful floating shot over Conor Kearns into top left corner and then Sam Verdon with a deserved goal.

Strikers Yousef 'Yoyo' Mahdy and George 'Georgie' Kelly started.
Water Breaks: 2 in total, 1 per half.

First Home league defeat since July 28th 2017 2-3 v Cabo.

July and August have had modest returns on points in recent seasons (2015 with 5 League wins in a row after 4 UEFA El qualifiers was an exception).

It was glorious day yesterday, Longford Town Fans/Section O singing throughout the game. I'd like UCD to get back to the metronome of Ws as soon as poz.

Ramblers in trouble I reckon. Pitch in a bad way as its not being looked after correctly (Two friendlies moved so far to other pitches because Aberdeen and Preston refused to play on the pitch).
On top of that, the players don't get a wage but get expenses. Nobody paid their expenses this week. Told on three separate occasions they'd get it and each time no money there for them.

The staff working in the bar also left without their wages this week.

No doubt the manager and the endless amount of staff he's brought in this season all got their wages on time though!

Drogheda Utd v UCD AFC, Finn Harps v Galway Utd., Shelbourne v Athlone Town and then Longford Town v Cabinteely tomorrow.

Getting giddy again.

Last matchday a fine away win from Longford Town a Eamon Deacy Park. The chasing pack of Finn Harps and Shels got themselves nicely out of trouble after going behind. Drogheda Utd did well to come back to 2-2 after 2-0 down away to  Cabo.  UCD dug deep to level twice 2-2 away to Cobh, very entertaining game.

Drogheda v UCD tonight will have UCD trying to controll a Drogheda side looking over their shoulder.  UCD will bring the game to Drogheda wanting to score early and add to the goals with counter-attacks. Drogheda will look to hit with a sucker punch midway through the second half, stay half a step ahead of Longford Town.

If Drogheda win/draw or Finn Harps win then the campaign continues for another week.

Good result for Harps tonight.

Based on what I seen of Drogheda last Monday night Harps should beat them handy enough over the 2 legs. Drogs really made hard work playing against 9 man Shelbourne.

We were horrible last night.  Looked very rusty and fortunate enough to get a draw
