Were in the draw for the chocolate cup ha (Tunnocks Carmel Wafer Scottish Challenge cup) tomorrow

Nice draw in the Fai Cup and great chance to get back to the QFs but longest journey we could make really with Glenagad Utd been up near Malin head

Big games coming up with Cork and Rovers at home on the 16th and 19th. Need to get something from these games to keep us away from the relegation zone.

Pray we dont draw Rovers, Dundalk or Bohs In the cup draw

Crumlin or UCD at home please. Sligo or Galway would be tricky games home or away

Losing to UCD in the QFs last year was so frustrating

Massive result tonight away to Cork late,  2-1 win

Our attention now turns to Hearts Colts who travel to the RSC Friday night in the TCW cup Third round but we face an even more important game this day week against Dundalk in the cup

Starting to hit a little bit of form and ya never knw what could happen. Obv we would still have to step up a few gears to beat Dundalk in the cup

Cup run ended last night by a much better Dundalk team. 3-0 down at HT and a missed penalty. Got to back to 3-1 and had a great chance at another goal but sadly wasant to b . Felt Dundalk could of moved up another gear if needed

Away to Bohs Friday night, will be tough to get something from this game. Once Harps and Cork dont pick up too many points we should be ok

Drawn away to Sternhousemuir in the Scottish Challenge Cup. Game to be played weekend of 12/13 October. Were due to host Sligo in the league on the 11th Oct and then our next game is away to Finn Harps on the 18th Oct so expect the Sligo to be moved to mid week

finishing off the season strongly 4 wins out of the last 5 league games and a 6th place finish very achievable with our last 2 league games been Finn Harps (A) and UCD (H)

Were in Scottish Challenge cup action tonight away too Stenhousemuir. Match is live on BBC Alba at 19.35. Be good to win the game and move into the next round, good waterford crowd gone over

We conceded a goal 30 seconds from the end to lose to Stenhousemuir 3 2. Decent game with lots of chances. Waterford only had a few regulars starting but brought on 3 of the big guns when 2 1 down. O'Connor headed in a free kick to draw level but Stenhousemuir struck deep in injury time to knock us out. No doubt the fans enjoyed their trip to an unusual destination.

Going part time with a mainly u19 squad next season I believe, looks like power is getting ready to leg it.

Was always built on sand unfortunately. A pity because they were a good addition to the league and a regional team to boot. It's a really shame that cities like Waterford/Galway/Limerick* seem incapable of maintaining a full time premier team. I would hope that the fans can organise and buy back a portion of the club from Power or just start again in the First if he pulls the plug and leaves the them with €1m+ in debt.

*yes I am aware it has not worked for Cork many times in the past also

Nothing confirmed yet but a lot of speculation locally that there will be a big budget cut for next season and going part time as said above. A lot of the under 19 players who are league winners could be used. It's not a big surprise given the lack of investors to come on board to support Lee Power, the loss of the European money which took a  minimum of 250000 from the budget this year and poor crowds at times last season.

From Kieran Lucid's proposal for an All-Ireland League:
"Starting out, the top flight would comprise the top eight clubs from south of the border and the top five from the north." (The 14th team was to be decided by a play-off between the ninth-placed LOI team and the IL's sixth team.)

I believe Waterford finished 7th in the league in the season just ended...

We finished 6th. We caught Sligo on the final day of the season to finish ahead of them.

My apologies.

But it does reveal one problem for the proposed AIL. Which is that for all their other faults, most IL clubs are financially stable and living within their (otherwise modest) means. This includes nearly all of them owning their own grounds, containing stadia which on the whole, compare favourably with many LOI stadia.

Whereas not only are Waterford struggling to pay their bills, but I understand Bohs have reverted to p-t football, Derry and Pats(?) are dependant on a sugar daddy, Cork have fallen back and Dundalk are way out in front of the rest in a way that isn't replicated in the IL. (We won't talk about Limerick. Or Athlone. Or Cabinteeley. Or the First Division period.)

Which is not to deny the many other advantages the LOI has over the IL, but the question remains, if LOI clubs can't manage their greater resources in their own league, what guarantee is there of their managing even greater resources responsibly in an AIL?

And why would IL clubs risk their own current progress on such a speculative venture?

Waterford currently in takeover talks hence we why aren’t doing what the other clubs are doing in leaving players or staff go.

Start of the week Lee Power was out and see ya later. Reading the court documents and other little bits and bobs, the court proceedings against him at Swindon could go on for another year or 2 pending current cases, counter claims and appeals. it's a lawyers dream what's going on. i wouldn't be taking what is said on the facebook blues supporters page as gospel. most of the lads on that dont have a clue what they are talking about. they like to think they know what they are talking about.

my prediction:
Blues will be back in Premier Division come August.
Lee Power gets the 190k from FAI
Noel Hunt appointed interim manager and stays on swindon payroll.
Waterford re-sign all young players on low wages.
Lee Power sends sh*t load of swindon players over for basically pre season and all players stay on swindon payroll.
Season is finished out and Lee Power takes the balance of what left over of the 190k and off he goes into the sunset.

and one last thing. the Blues Supporters Club should come out if the League resumes and request all fans boycott attandending games if Lee Power is still there. these spoofers need to grow a set
