James Buldger killer back in prison One of the killers of toddler James Bulger is back behind bars after breaching the conditions of his release from prison. Jon Venables, 27, who with Robert Thompson abducted and murdered James in February 1993, was released from custody in 2001, but he has been recalled following the breach, a Ministry of Justice spokeswoman said. She added: "We can confirm that Jon Venables has been recalled to custody following a breach of licence conditions. "Offenders on licence are subject to strict conditions; if they breach those conditions they are subject to immediate recall. "There is a worldwide injunction in place that prohibits any reporting including reporting on the internet, that could identify him or his location." Details of the nature of the breach were not released. Venables and Thompson were aged 10 when they embarked on a crime that stunned the world. On February 13, 1993, they abducted James from a shopping centre and killed him on a railway line. The toddler's battered body was found by children playing on a freight railway line 200 yards from Walton Lane police station, Liverpool, and more than two miles from the Strand shopping centre. Days later Venables and Thompson were arrested in connection with the murder of James, and later charged. They were the youngest to be charged with murder in the 20th century. |

I thought our justice system was badly fcked up but giving those 2 sick bastds new identities defied logic. Hope they both die a slow horrible death and soon.

Odds against rehabilitation. For the vast majority of people, once you are locked up, especially for a serious offense like this, there is little hope of living a normal life... your past will always be there closing doors to opportunities and you will most likely re-offend just to try and get ahead.

In a UK paper today that there are reports that
1. He has developed a drink and drugs problem
2. He was involved in a serious assault
Hope it was the first, but as Ms Bulger said, he's back where he should have been all along!

i read something a few years back claiming one of them (Thompson) was living in Ireland - now called Sean Walsh... they do look remarkably similar!
PRISON bosses yesterday said they would review security for a prisoner after he reportedly claimed he was the killer of English child Jamie Bulger... Walsh, aged 25, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment this week for a vicious attack on his girlfriend in November 2004... "Sean Walsh, who has previous convictions in the UK when he was a juvenile, showed no emotion as he was given the 15-year sentence which was backdated to when the attack took place."

I read on one of the news sites he was put back inside for a workplace brawl and that he is rumoured to have developed a drugs problem. What those kids did was in excusable.

im not sure whether a person (regardless of their age at the time) who was capable of partaking in such an act is capable of living in normal society

Bulger Killer Recalled Over Child Porn Claim
Jon Venables, the killer of toddler James Bulger, was sent back to jail on suspected child pornography offences, it has been reported. The Sunday Mirror claims probation chiefs revoked Venables' licence once the allegations had been made, but ministers have refused to reveal the exact reasons. The 27-year-old was recalled to prison last week after what Justice Secretary Jack Straw described as "extremely serious allegations". Venables was controversially released on life licence in 2001 with a new identity after serving eight years for the toddler's murder. James's mother Denise Fergus believes Venables should lose his anonymity if he is charged with new offences. Her spokesman Chris Johnson said: "If after that, depending on the outcome of the court case, the powers that be decide that he should have some new identity yet again, then we'll deal with that when we come to it. "But she can't understand why he doesn't appear in a dock under his own name, if that's going to be where he ends up." |
