would make a great right full back for us. And its leaves space in midfield for McCarthy

He's playing at centre half in the bolton game at the moment. He definitely has a better future at the back then going forward

He's a rubbish right back. Saw him there a couple of times last season and his positiong was atrocious. Watched Kevin Foley v Chelsea yesterday, proper right back.

have watched Foley closely and he is constantly bossing the back 4. Good talker and a quality prospect for us.

He has done great to break into the team and has always worked his nuts off for us. Not the greatest player in the world, but far from being the worst. I think he has potential at right back where he has played a few games for Blackburn, but from the limited times I've seen him there he has been caught out a few times, though that might be his unfamiliarity with the position. Definitely worth considering

Most of the season actually. Ronald Zubar is the right back for Wolves at the moment and Richard Stearman before that. Edited by grannyrule - 21 Feb 2010 at 2:21pm |

He got stuck between saying 'by and stretch of the imagination' and 'in any way, shape or form'. So he went for 'by any shape of the imagination ' . That said I do think he's decent as a co-com/analyst.

He's a good analyst, just has an unusual turn of phrase.

Don't know how he got any gigs on TV tbh. Not a very attractive speaking manner and the head on him ffs.
Anyway, funny to see people talking about the Great White Hope of McCarthy back in 2010. Never really happened did it.

Was definitely toning his accent down and speaking a lot slower for coverage of the Reading v Derby the other night

Maybe that's why he's doing co-commentary rather than analysis in the studio.

i like him as a commentator/analyst and liked him as a player as well. fair play to him for carving out a seemingly decent career in media after his playing days, I know he was a coach on karl Robinsons staff at mk dons for awhile
