If you haven't seen it, Babylon Berlin is amazing. The 3rd installment is coming very soon. Subtitles of course. The main actor was the main actor in generation war. Biggest budget for a German show. Class

It isn't a film I would watch again. Best part of the film is the live aid performance and sure you can watch that on you tube.

Anyone see Peter JAckson's film last night on BBC2 'They shall not grow old'. Brilliantly done and really brings those old Pathe news clips to life. Between the enhanced film reels with colour and the old interviews from veterans it was very engaging stuff.
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

Overlord

U.S soldiers are sent to occupied France during WW2. What starts out as a normal mission to take down a radio tower gets flipped on its head when the soldiers discover that the Nazis are experimenting on the living and dead and creating zombie nazis.
2 genres of films in this, and reminded me, somewhat, of Cabin in the Woods. Enjoyable, over exaggerated blood and a few jumps too.
Have heard of critics giving this 4 and 5 stars. 5 is a bit much as it wasn't that amazing.

7.5/10

Wildlife

Set in 60's Montana, Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan are new town town. Finding it difficult to get work Gyllenhaal joins the deadbeats of the town and volunteers to put out wildfires in the countryside, leaving his family. Leaving his wife behind she starts to think what her life has become. Reminiscing of her youth and how she could have a better life.
This is a bit slow for me and not much going on. Mulligan is very good trying to discover who she really is. Their teenage son is really annoying however. He knows she is having an affair and he is too whimpish to say anything. I thought his character was going to start off like this until finally blowing up with frustration, but he continued to be like this throughout. This is Paul Danos directorial debut, and it looks nice and has 'indie' written all over it but overall not great.

5/10

Ocean's 8

Why did I watch this? On a plane journey home I thought to myself 'maybe it's not so bad. I can watch an all female cast'. But the thing is, it was terrible.
Is it because it was an all female cast and not aimed at me. Perhaps.
For me it was just not funny. There was 1 titter of a joke in there.
Won't even bother with a score.
The dark side.. And the light

Changeling was on the telly box last night.

Good watch. 1920s America and single mother Angelina Jolie's son goes missing and the police replace him with an impostor and it goes from there.

Directed by Clint E and a true story.

Enjoyed it a lot 7.5/10

Sounds similar to this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Imposter_(2012_film)

Seen First Man in the cinema on Sunday. Its about Neill Armstrong's journey to landing on the moon. Terrible. How this made it to the big screen is a mystery. 2/10

Creed II feels like a major letdown considering how hyped it was.

Creed I had funny throwbacks to the old Rocky films - Catching the chicken etc. But the only throwback which worked which was bringing back Ivan Drago who played his part very well.
The Rocky 2 throwback of having the baby/engagement, Rocky 4 throwback of having the final fight in Russia and having another Don King from Rocky 5 all didnt work sadly.

It’s not the worst Rocky/Creed film out there, higher than Rocky 6 but definitely not a classic

Birdbox with Sandra Bullock and John Malkovich on Netflix.

Leave your brain at the door for this one. In a nutshell, a sinister force has taken over the earth causing anybody that opens their eyes long enough to see it, will commit suicide in the most gruesome of ways.

Fairly intense and Bullock plays the role well with Malkovich on top form as a sarcastic, cynical alco Clap

Well worth a look for edge of your seat stuff - 7/10

Yeah really enjoyed it myself.

Had the fear watching it due to the excessive amount of alcohol consumed.
