Don’t worry he won’t get far on foot - Amazon Prime 7.5/10

Dark comedy true story about an alcoholic going nowhere who after a car accident ends up a quadriplegic in a wheelchair. Embittered he finds solace in drawing funny cartoons and coming off the booze.

Feel good element and as per usual, outstanding acting by Joaquin Phoenix in the lead with help from Jonah Hill in a supporting role.

In true Q Man style, a serious twitch from Rooney Mara, what a babe.

The Thing is a firm favourite at Halloween in this household. Absolute classic

Saw this for the first time and can see why it's so highly rated. John Carpenter was on some roll in the eighties between this, Halloween, The Fog, Prince of Darkness and others. Trademark pacing, foreboding, atmosphere and soundtrack that you get in all his movies with memorable special effects and death sequences. It looked ahead of its time, though I must have watched a remastered version because it looked way too sleek for a 1982 picture. Something else that struck me while watching it is how The Faculty completely ripped off its premise.

9 out of 10 Jeff.

I seen Halloween and The Fog.  Classics.  Never seen The Fing Jeff.

I actually really like Halloween III

The Martian. Good film but a bit too long for my liking. Good subject matter but way too many cheesy jokes. 7/10

A good weekend of films so far 👌

This is Terrance Peterson, my monkey flash light key chain, under rated moment in that movie.

The Wind that shakes the Barley.  9.5/10. Probably my favourite film of all time.

Roadhouse - 5.5/10. Expected it to be a lot worse tbh. Actually ended up not being too bad. McGregor is beyond woeful in it. Sure he’s just playing himself.

Doesn’t come near the original with Swayze

Under Suspicion on Amazon Prime is a good watch.

Gene Hackman plays an influential tax attorney with a much younger wife who is questioned by Morgan Freeman's police captain over the murders of two young girls. Much of it is told in flashback and with the two masters of the screen jousting verbally. Was on the hook for the entirety of this one and very curious as to how it would play out. Anything with Gene Hackman in it is great. He always plays a good bastard.

The Pig, the Snake and the Pigeon is a Taiwanese movie on Netflix. It's great fun. The last half hour is about as Tarantino as you'll get.

Proper proper film.

I watched it too, had never seen it. After the first car scene I wanted to turn it off. But it was left on as I was doing other things and the film grew on me. Was decent.
