Can't listen to him anymore.  Prick.

Just listen to Johnny Marr. He made that **** sound good for years!

Getting Away With It- Johnny Marr

That's a turn up for the books PM. LOL

I think we had some back and forth on him previously where I was making the point that he comes across as a pretentious prick in interviews and you were defending him.

Irrespective of what he's like personality wise, you can't knock his ability as a songwriter and he has a very distinctive singing style.

Johnny Marr is excellent, hugely influential with a unique sound but I think you're being a bit harsh on Morrissey.

Morrissey is still the best live act in terms of his voice I ever seen and he was nearly 50 I think at the time. Tom Yorke was a very close second.

Hard to believe the Smiths were only in existence for about 5 years given the body of work they have and the sheer impact of it.
Must have been a very long time ago! He has been a fascist **** for a long time now. He has turned into a caricature of himself. Anyway, if Mart had knocked on his front door he would still be sulking in his bedroom! Marr was the one who made that sound and he played everything a key lower to suit that ****'s voice. When he plays them himself they sound better for that reason.

Haven't been following him or his politics that closely tbh but just looking up a couple of articles. Feck sake. Some reprehensible stuff there.

I do get the feeling there might a bit of an attention seeking/contrarian aspect here on Morrissey's part. He always wants to to go against the grain and might want to cause some shock and outrage but there's no excuse anyway where he means it or not.

His words matter given his platform and I'm sure there'll be gobsh*tes who love his music and would then probably take on his disgusting racist incinuations.

I'm not disputing the fact that Johnny Marr created the sound that defined the Smiths but Morrissey's song writing and singing style arguably defined the character of the band. The singer is usually the focal point anyway.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Why do they put on ridiculous accents to sing? I can't work out if it is trying to be funny or they think it works? I have looked for an interview and at least two of them have Dundalk accents; why not sing in those?
