Don't think there's any desire for that!

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

what is the saying ? Build it and they will come . My family work in the hospitality industry and there was a big uptake on the hotel deals for dinner and drink . So in a way it's creeping in . 475 people booked in and sold the amount they wanted in one week rather than the 5 week period they thought it would take . 3 scheduled dinner times over 2/3/4 pm

I'd like to think that the number of people admitted to A&E on Holy Thursday with alcohol related injuries, will dramatically decline. My brother in law is a paramedic and says it is one of the busiest nights of the year!

The Off Licence Association Ireland are having a protest over this next week, it's mad that out of 363 days of business the Thursday night before Good Friday accounts for 85% of their sales

Don't think there are any early houses on Sundays in Dublin. Every other day yes but not Sundays unless I'm mistaken

Is the correct answer. Section 4(7) of the Intoxicating Liquor Act 1927 as amended states that

"(7) No general exemption order shall be granted—
(a) in respect of premises unless a general exemption order was in force in respect of the premises on 30 May 2008, or
(b) for any time on any Sunday or Saint Patrick’s Day or Christmas Day."

A general exemption order is what allows early houses to open and exempts holders of such an order from being prosecuted for breaching licensing laws if they serve outside normal licensing hours. So no early pints on a Sunday, Patrick's Day or Christmas Day. The first bit just means that no new early house licenses can be granted.

If you're really desperate for 7am pints on a Sunday morning, book a cheap flight out of Dublin you won't use and go to the airport bar.

The 10:10 to Poznan is €30, on All Ireland Final Sunday.

Hell, any flight works, even one at 5pm. The boarding pass scanning gates will still let you in.

Plus, if you get the train down into Connolly, you can get into the bar. A ticket in is as good as a ticket out.

Or, you know, buy a bag of cans and bring them with you, to tide you over to half twelve.
