No offies in France so it'll just be supermarkets or corner shops to buy beer. Beer is generally a lot cheaper to buy in shops than it in Ireland. It can range widely depending on where you go (heading to hypermarches on the outskirts of town is the cheapest option by far) but you can as a rule expect to buy a sixpack of Heineken, Kronenbourg, Pelforth, Stella, 1664 or other standard lager for 3 to 4 euros and a case for less than 15 (most bottled beer in France is 25cl though you will find 33cl and 75 cl too, while most cans are 50cl).

You can get cold cans in supermarkets and corner shops but it's usually a very small proportion of stock and, given they'll be likely be turning over a lot during the Euros, no beer will be left in the fridge very long. In some arrondissements, including the 11th and the 18th (where the Harp is), it is illegal for shops to sell take-away booze after 10pm. They are very strict about this so get your orders in before 10 if you want to have drink for the night.

Magner's, Strongbow, Bulmer's (the English sort) you'll usually only be able to find in pubs (mostly Irish or other Anglophone ones). In the shops, you'll find mostly Breton or Norman cider, such as Ecusson, Loic Raison, Kerisac and Lebrun. It usually comes in 75cl champagne-style bottles though Loic Raison do a 1.5 litre flagon for about 2 euros. There are two types, Doux, which is 2.5 pc and Brut, which is around 6pc. It's drier than the Irish and British varieties and, in my opinion, nicer. Won't be too expensive to try it out.

Not a hope of getting back in there before Belgium game starts.

The Ireland match finishes an hour and twenty minutes before the other game starts. Even allowing for crowds, you'll get back into Gare du Nord within 45 minutes of the end of the match. Then take line 2 from La Chapelle (underground tunnel at the back of Gare du Nord, follow the Metro signs, and keep your ticket because there's another turnstile) and in ten minutes you'll be at the Harp. No guarantee you'll be able to get inside the door, mind.
hopefully thats the case but the few games I have been to there,it wasnt that quick to get from stadium back to city centre. An hour and 20 minutes from your seat in the stadium back to Harp seems very unrealistic but I will take from your location you know your stuff Thumbs Up

I've never tried it or heard of it but it sounds good. At €2 for a 1.5 litre bottle at 6pc that sounds like the job.

Did you drink the cider over in Poland or in Warsaw last October? Thought that was very nice myself.

Gare du Nord is only one stop and five minutes from the La Plaine-Stade de France RER B station and trains run every three minutes after matches. Most non-Parisians don't know about the underground tunnel to Metro line 2 so they generally take longer to get around from Gare du Nord. It's true that you save time when you know the city but it definitely can be done. Getting to the other end of town will be a different matter, mind.

O'Neill's and the Brazen Head too.

No idea about Paris.

I actually like Harp but more than seven pints and I end up with a hangover that gives me serious thought of using a jackhammer on my temples.

I remember the afternoon of that infamous night in Paris, couple of the corner shops around place de clichy were looking for €120 for a slab of beers. I did arrive later in the afternoon now so supply and demand obviously had a bearing in that instance
