McCoy's do a prawn flavour one that are in the top tier of crisps. The salt and vinegar ones are a fine effort too.

An excellent crisp.

The Germany company that own tayto have been buying up the others for years too (perrin, kp, king). They have updated all the brands to tayto.

Edit: updated the brands to Tayto in the Irish market. Skips in the UK would be still made by KP for example

Yeah, I only remember 'plain' crisps coming in to Ireland with Walker's. They are acceptable in a crisp sandwich and that's all. People love them here though and old lads still talk about the ones where you put the salt in yourself. What a thrill!

Big fan of Salt n' Shake when I was a kid. Plain crisps with this little blue foil packet of salt. Tasted better than normal ready salted

Yeah Tayto are making Burger Bites and Banshee Bones for Halloween anyway.  Don't know how that came about.

They taste quite similar but not exactly the same. They are more round corn snacks as opposed the burger shape they used to be

There are very few crisps that don't taste better than 'ready salted. They are just cold sautéed potatoes.

Ready salted are like a crisp that was the only one available in communist Poland.  Bland and unappealing.

M&S sour cream and black pepper wholegrain snacks are good, albeit not necessarily a crisp

The name seriously puts me off them as well

Reminds me variously of former Enron crook Ken Lay, hens laying eggs, and very drunken one night stands

Not what you want in a crisp

Aren't Lays just Walkers in funkier flavours for European and American market? The ridged paprika ones I bought in the late-night Polish shop were decent at the time, but that might have been the booze.

I'm not a betting man

I occasionally do two or three 20 cent accumulators on a weekend, with about 20 selections with odds of 100,000/1 or some such

That's about the height of my betting
