Crunchies were the balls too. Same flavour as skips but much better texture and only 10p back in the day.

Savage call.

Surprising lack of love for Skips on the thread I have to say. Disappointing.

I’m talking fat frog green here.

Yeah. The Franken Berry cereal in America used to turn children's sh*te blood red. Led to a mass health scare back in the 70's.

Jaysus, I was borderline addicted to them.

Does anyone remember Big time bars? Were like toffee bars I think, had a clock on the front.

Ye a fella used to drive around Palmerstown and Ballyer in a Hiace selling fruit, veg and random sweets and those torpedo things that were meant to be frozen like a cool pop. Big time bars and macaroon bars.

My cousin had that unfortunate nickname because he shared the same surname as a notorious local traveller family.

They still make them in South Africa, you can buy them online or in some of those "American candy" shops but they charge mad money. There was an African shop in Dublin years ago I used to get them in for €1-2, think its long gone. Was off Capel St.

I want to say they were nicer than crispy M&M's but I'm not sure if that's sentiment talking.

Strange vibe off those American candy places alright, seem like laundering fronts. Those African and Asian shops do have great stuff alright. Some exotic crisps flavours and deadly noodles.

I remember Desperate Dan Bars with sugar stones in them
Roy of the Rovers pineapple flavour
Stinger Bars

Those bars would be illegal now with all the sugar in them

Basically Orange flavoured Chomps

Woppas were another one. Cola flavoured and Peppermint flavour
