Got a call from someone I trust.
He claimed a junior FAI official was in Hackett's of Lr Baggot Street photocopying some papers today when the machine jammed.
Assistance was needed and during the conversation it transpired the guy
was making 15 copies of a managerial contract for Terry Venables.
Believe it, or believe it not

I've heard some sh*te in my time, but that Soccerc has to be the worst. A boomakers, for photocopying a contract for the new Ireland manager..and then to go and tell anyone in the shop who asks what it is.

I don't see why the FAI can't just stick their necks out and ask Mourinho. Worst comes to the worst he says no, big deal. At least then it will look like they are trying to get a forward thinking manager, and not some of the people higher up on the list.
In my opinion, there's some people above him that wouldn't take the job now (Keane, Lippi, Hiddink) and plently that shouldn't even be thought about (Brady, O'Leary, Souness, Hoddle, Toshack, Dalglish, Graham, Aldridge, Keegan, Kinnear, Sanchez and Allen). |
I agree Seanie Mac..All the Special One can say is no...and as you quite rightly say, at least it will show that they have some ambition..however I think the brits would be his first choice if he is to be offered their job..

I think houllier would be a good manager, but would the FAI actually splash out ????
I was reading in the irish news yesterday that the FAI had a shortlist, and the names on it were either british and irish, if this is the case it's not looking good i think.

His record is just as bad as Venables in the last 10 years 7 jobs in 10 years. none of us know anything about him..and now all of a sudden YOU want him as manager.
Then someone will write an article about how crap he was for so and so and then all of a sudden it will be f**k off Arie...
For the record I think he is an interesting option BUT I know f**k all about him so would hold judgement before jumping on the Haans bandwagon

To be perfectly honest everyone who has been mentioned has been criticised by the press and the fans. everyone is giving out stink without saying who they want. i reckon Haan would be interesting. We should go for a continental manager. The players have no respect for any Irishman (Brian Kerr was the best candidate from Ireland) and Stan or Venables would merely be "one of the boys". They need to be afraid of the manager. Someone who's going to come in and say "Robbie you're playing muck, I'm dropping you, and Sheasy, ur cack, piss off". That might waken these guys up.
The likes of Stephen Ireland can decide if they want to play for Ireland once and for all or else fook off.
Stan or El Tel will never shake it up like that....saving Haan go for Roddy Collins, he'll have the boys in a boxing ring in Cabra and thump Robbie round the head for a couple of rounds. I'd give him the job just to see him do that.
|
The sequence now is, should he miss this, and Ireland's next penalty is scored, then the match and the progress are Ireland's....Timofte against Bonner..
