You lot are philistines, the subtle flavour of the small brassica needs to be treated with care, no fridges, neatly trimmed and popped into a large pot with copious slightly salted boiling water. Bring back to the boil and simmer very gently for five minutes. Take them off the heat and plunge into iced water and then place in oven for another five as the roasties finish off

A properly prepared and cooked sprout adds to the whole crimbo dinner experience and aids digestion.

Nah, that's a load of bollox really. Makes them all mushy and for wusses.

Properly prepared and trimmed is all you need to do, just make sure they all the same size and none of those jumbo things in the pot.
