Those signs were directed at Hicks and Gillet. They disappeared when FSG took over.

The issue was with both the running of the club and the fact that they were american - hence the yanks part and the chants of yanks out. |

No, there was no issue with the fact that they were American. FSG engaged with SOS before the took over so that kinda blows your theory out of the water. But this is all irrelevant to my main point.

S&B You are able to support your team and demonstrate at the same time.
I think Newcastle fans had such a terrible time with Ashley, anyone that bought the club was seen as an improvement. At a world level there had been a greater acceptance of authoritarian rulers and doing business with them. But Putin has changed everything.

This excellently sums up the hypocrisy of the football owners, and our western skewed world view

Eddie Howe still going with the "I'm just going to talk about football" line when asked about his bosses executing 81 people.

English football in general has got gradually more avaricious over the last thirty years.
There aren't any lows it won't stoop to in its endless quest to monopolise the game.

Credit the author for his takedown of “whataboutery”. I’m seeing an awful lot of it in relation to Ukraine which needs to be examined.
