Has Kevin Hart ever been in a good film? Wouldn’t go near anything with him in it.

The trailer was released yesterday for Jake Gyllenhaals new film 'Roadhouse', a remake of Patrick Swayzes 1980s film.
It seemed to be looking good before the introduction of the big bad villain, Mr Conor McGregor. acting exactly how Conor McGregor does. I think it's called 'chewing up the scenery'.

When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

Bob Marley One Love. 6/10. Worth a watch if you like his songs. Not a patch on bohemian rhapsody and just as I thought it was hitting it's stride it ended.

Some wans I've watched recently.

JFK

Watched this in one sitting. Gripping stuff before Oliver Stone completely lost the run of himself. Full of big names chewing the scenery [Tommy Lee Jones, Joe Pesci, Kevin Bacon] while Donald Sutherland's cameo portraying "X" is mesmerising. Kevin Costner does a marvelous job anchoring things.

Field of Dreams

This is the better of the Kevin Costner baseball movies.

Bull Durham

Can't understand the hype about this one at all. Bored the pants off me.

The River Wild

First time watching this since I was a child. Holds up pretty well.

Boogie Nights

Fantastic. Reminded me of a Scorsese flick with the way it was edited.

The Killer

A bit self-indulgent. Been a few months since I watched it and can't remember much about it TBH. One of the fight scenes reminded me of something from a video game. Unrealistic and took me out of the movie. Expected better from David Fincher.

Killers of the Flower Moon

After recovering from making a tit out of myself by asking for tickets to "Flowers of the Killer Moon", I settled in and watched Leonardo Di Caprio in one of his best acting performances and somewhat of a return to form for Robert De Niro. Real misery porn this was. The whacking scenes and the screwing around of the Osage got so repetitive at one stage that it almost reached a point of absurdity to me. I believe at one stage people in the cinema laughed. There are no likeable characters in the movie. I don't mean that in a bad way necessarily; it's just unremittingly the evil of man. I'd probably put it somewhere in the middle if I was ranking Scorsese's stuff.
