anyone go see Black47? herself wants to go but I've read enough about the period to know there never was a famine in Ireland, so is it another sh*te and inaccurate film like Michael Collins?

It's decent up to the mid way point of the film but turns into some sort of action movie rather than a historical film about the famine. Save yourself the few quid and watch it online.

Black '47 isn't a film about the famine/genocide to be fair, it's a Western/revenge genre piece set during that time in Ireland. I thought it was a decent film considering the limited budget it was made on. Some of the action sequences were a bit hit and miss, but thought for the most part the film worked well mainly thanks to the quality of acting, the cinematography and the score.

Heard a fella in work today talking about a film about Ireland in Italia 90, couldn’t make out what he was saying the name of it was - The Band it sounded like, but can’t find anything on google about it
He said it’s very good

Any ideas?

Sorry To Bother You.

Dark comedy set in an alternative future,a black telemarketer adopts a "white voice" to become a success at his job.I wont go into anymore detail but I thought it was excellent.
