Can you imagine what the Ecuadorian version of Ybig must be like rn?

LOL

Can imagine the Ecuadorian superdave posting train times from around the Middle East

Love Fifa's response that they will review on a case by case basis any fans out of pocket. Good luck with that lads.

#Qatari officials have detained around 60 Al Bandary Engineering and Electro Watt employees who protested unpaid wages, and began deportations last night. Close to 200 migrant workers had taken to the streets in the industrial area on 14 August 2022.

The Qatar 2022 soap opera continues

Looks like one of Ecuador's players wasn't eligible to play for them.

Oddly Chile are the one's complaining the most even though they finished 7th so I doubt they'd take their place

LOL

The current rumours are that if they are excluded FIFA would either

a) give the spot to the highest ranked team who haven't qualified, which would be Italy

b) the losers of the Inter continental playoffs (Peru and New Zealand) and the highest ranked team who haven't qualified again Italy would take part in a little tournament before the World Cup and the winner would qualify

c) The highest ranked non qualified teams from each eligible region for Group A (Europe,NA,SA,Oceania- Asia and Africa wouldn't take part as Qatar and Senegal are already in Group A so there would be more then 1 team from that region in the Group) would play each other in a playoff type competition before the WC that would be yes Italy again, Panama, Colombia and New Zealand.

Tbh in terms of organisation and time constraints they'll probably just give it to Italy

Tbh, I wouldn't be completely surprised if they gave it to Russia.

That's a mad story!

The last line of the article says that Chile would most likely take their place....

If FIFA followed recent precedent, two 3-0 victories would be awarded to Chile as a result of their complaints. They would move up from seventh to fourth and take Ecuador’s place.

Ha, I thought there would be some ulterior motive going on with Chile doing the shouting.

That's mad alright.

Chile finished on 19 points, 1 from Ecuador games so 5 more would bring them to 24 (+1 GD)
Colombia finished on 23 points, but looks like he never played against them.
Peru finished on 24 points, but again he never played against them.

So yeah, by the rules, two 3-0 victories, Chile finish 4th and qualify automatically, Peru remain in 5th so playoff is still valid.

Odd one

Tim Vickery on OTB on Tuesday saying that Chile have form for this. For the last WC, they made a complaint about Bolivia fielding an ineligible player, which was upheld. But Peru ended up benefitting more from the complaint than Chile did and got the play-off spot. If Chile had said nothing, they'd have finished ahead of Peru LOL

He seems to think that the player in question had citizenship and was naturalised (using the FIFA rulings) before he was called up. Vickery doesn't think the complaint has any validity.
