That is very depressing. Suppose with many companies owned by Qatar wealth funds there will always be someone to replace any sponsor who has enough.  Pity.

If Visa pulled out and refused to facilitate ticket sales would have an impact as Mastercard won't go near FIFA again.  Obviously that is very much wishful thinking.

All Hail Sepp Blatter, and his Glorious, Eternal Regime!

What? No. I've always had this solid gold watch, ferrari, beach house in Mauritius and Gulf Stream jet. What are you trying to suggest?

FIFA to triple payments to clubs for 2018 and 2022 World Cups:-

The major clubs are receptive to the idea.  In effect, the last group who could have possibly stopped a winter World Cup in Qatar in 2022 have been bought off.

The clubs may be receptive but will the Subscription TV channels?

Don't see it being an issue. The English festive period is still going ahead meaning the players only have 8 days to recover from the jet lag and climate change

Arresting BBC News journalists is the latest craze in Qatar. Talk about continously shooting themselves in the foot.

It really does go beyond belief and I'm no longer surprised when people, fans blow!

How the hell can a country such as Qatar host an international event, an event which has its own customs and social elements whether right or wrong, then dictate what and how the fans of the event must do to be allowed to even enter the country!

I've followed a great number of independent, I mean solo and free and unconected news outlets, and it really gets me lost as to what the hell will the 2022 world cup turn into??

I found a site which is not footy related but covers the 2022 world cup as part of their social nightmare. Under QATAR, check out www.TheHistoryOfIslam.com  and read or follow the growing world cut section.  I know they've been hacked, they've been threatened and they've been banned in 3 countries.

Does nobody care what this liberal corrupt world of FIFA is doing to the global brand of footbal?  It's bad enough that the players are only about money and the 1960-1980 hayday when the game was a sport and not just a ridiculous business, but now we have a country as Qatar who bought their way to hosting an event they are said (according to thehistoryofislam.com) to be spending two hundred BILLION on, and banning everything we never had to think about such as being Gay, girls showing arms and legs, forget a bear and now even our crucifix is going to be banned at point of entry.

Bye Bye footy

Too late to take the tournament off Russia, which is a pity if they are proved to have bribed their way to getting it, but Qatar could lose out......highly unlikely though.

Deutschland 2022

Would they be allowed have two tournaments back to back?

they'll most likely get Euro 2024

England will most likely put their name forward and probably be selected on the back of the above

Special circumstances I'd say
