StPats reply to the FAI

Pats
Super stuff from Pats Thumbs Up

Super stuff indeed but cool heads are needed now.  Derry and Pats need to canvass support from a few other clubs and harness the media a public support that is firmly on their side.  What they don't want to do is make the mistake of getting dragged into a sl*gging match with the FAI.  They need to focus on the issues not the personalities behind the issues.  I really think this could be a game changer and lead to massive change in how football is run in this country but the clubs need to be careful not to score an own goal.

Nothing has changed it that time and while the FAI are scum of the earth, the clubs have not helped themselves either. The most likely reason I suspect is clubs universally blowing money on wages, which in terms of longterm strategy makes little sense. The league needs outside investment.  All it takes is some dodgy Russian ,Chinese or Uzbek consortium, the product is there no doubt, it just needs to tarted up a great deal to attract investment. I always got the impression LOI clubs are run by used car salesmen.

Dundalk this week been the best example, stadium falling to bits. I was first in Oriel around 1990 for an Ireland - Poland U21 match and I can tell you it's a disgrace that not much has changed. Ditto Richmond Park which looked great in 1995 but twenty years on very little has changed. Ditto, Tolka, Dalymount, Brandywell ect ect

I'd also argue the setup of the league is archaic and doesn't help either. There's no reason for so many clubs to be coming from Dublin bar maintaining a 'ah sure isn't it tradition' mentality which seems to prevail.

It's really only four clubs from Dublin and the two northside teams are too close to each other

nothing has changed in richer since the 90s?

I must be imagining a new stand, the whole ground paved and terraced properly so?

Its no palace, but its adequate.

The four Dublin clubs have 500 odd years of history between them and have produced hundreds of Ireland internationals. All hail saint Patrick's rovers so
