A stroll in a fairly bad park for Man U today

Didn’t realise the 5th round matches will be midweek.
I like the idea of that. I’d put the 1/4 finals midweek too.

Great idea for barstoolers. Terrible idea for fans who go to games.

Grand for home fans, but they don't tend to go much in the cups anyway. Terrible for away fans, who mainly use the cup for a piss up these days.

Why? As someone who goes regularly and works normal hours, Tuesday games are a bit of a nuisance but hardly a major factor. It is only a problem for clubs who don't have a local following, or whose local following has been priced out.

I was saying you were wrong about home fans not going (A number of sell out crowds this weekend) and away fans just going for a piss up.

Oh right. Luck of the draw in some cases (Shrewsbury, Tranmere, Brentford) and ploys and marketing I would imagine to get the crowds in in many places. Just from browsing a few forums before this and the previous round, that was the conclusion I came to. Obviously not all do, but it certainly seems to be the reason for some large away supports.

Last trains out of London midweek leave at 10pm.
Which means Saints fans will have to miss 30+ mins and possibly penalties if its a draw in the first 90 minutes. Apparently this is a great idea.
Which makes
Absolutely correct. Midweek games are rotten.

Then it would be hard to go to an away game. Nobody likes mid games, people have work.

Thought Lamouchi should have been red carded for the penalty he conceded for Liverpool today
He's the last man surely?

Some excitement for Shrewsbury in Anfield for the replay knowing it will be a youth side against them.

If this weekends FA Cup games have proven anything, it’s that Harry Maguire would be Zidane-esque if he played in league 2

Not under the current rules, no. The 'last man' was never a thing.
