Wouldn't call it a scrappy goal at all. Same with the description of Idah's goal the night before. It's the exact type of goals we want our strikers scoring; being in a goal-scoring position, getting across the defender within the box. Nothing scrappy about it.

First half hattrick for Ferguson in the PL2 today. Obviously it's not senior football, but he has clearly outgrown this level.
He will be 18 by the time the next transfer window opens, if he's not getting decent minutes with Brighton at that point he should he aiming to get straight out on loan.

Will be interesting to see if whoever Brighton get as a head coach now see Ferguson as part of the future. If not hope he gets a loan. Clearly needs a bigger challenge than u23 football sooner rather than later.

Would have been sent out on loan already this window you feel if he'd have been old enough, will almost definitely be going somewhere in January when he is with or without Potter around I'd say.

I'd not be rushing to send a 17-year old (albeit a well-developed lad like Evan) out on loans just yet.
There's more to it than just the playing of matches - there's a new squad to get to know, new living arrangements etc. Another season with the now U21 PL2, and some senior cup appearances (along with whatever he plays for Ireland) would be grand.
