That is great and it really gives them a chance, albeit the Greeks will still be favourites. I just saw that Whittaker, who I believe was having a terrible game, went off to cheers at 2-0 down!

A few other interesting results around tonight...

Valur, who were unlucky not to beat Rosenborg in the CL, lost away to Santa Coloma . Santa Coloma dropped out of the CL themselves after losing in the preliminary round.

Cillian Sheridan played as Jagiellonia won 1-0 against Rio Ave of Portugal.

Derry's conquerors Dinamo Minsk won 3-1 away in Slovakia, whose league champions beat a certain Legia in the CL last night,  albeit in a town with a Hungarian ethnic majority, which I'm sure will cause a few more people to say 'what if' unnecessarily.

It will be hard for Hibs tonight particuarly with their defence be great if they could get an early away goal to settle them down.

Despite all the money, Burnley are horrific. Barely winning a game of 'get it in the box, son' against Derek McInnes.

Bollocks, bollocks and more bollocks! All that money and no nous or intelligence on the ball. Ashley Barnes being the difference sums it up. A Scottish Premiership player who is probably on 30k a week.

Sturm Graz have condemned the "damaging" behaviour of a fan who threw a full drink at an assistant referee which cut his head open.

The incident happened at Sturum Grazs home Europa League match with Cypriot club AEK Larnaca last night.

Zenit and Feyenoord both getting four goal hammerings in Belarus and Slovakia. Absolutely shocking results.

I think until they change the games in this tournament to Tuesday/Wednesday like CL teams aren't going to take it fully seriously

Also feel the drop down from the CL should be done away with.

The qualification for next seasons CL was a good though and once teams get out of the group stage and to the 1/4s they start to take it seriously.

If I was a UEFA delegate I'd suggest a whole overhaul of both competitions.

The Champions League should be just that Champions
League Winners and Cup winners (Where a country has two cups i.e. England either whichever one is ranked higher as per UEFA grade or a playoff between the two FA Cup and League Cup winners.

The Europa League can then be the teams who finish 2,3,4,5 and perhaps the runner up of above playoff per country.

Of course no clubs would agree to this due to the massive money a club can make in CL.

Less teams in both is required... the bottom team in each group add nothing to the competition.

Maybe add a third tier.

A teams play on Wed
B teams on Tues
C teams on Thur

I'd love things to go back to the old ways

UEFA Cup (League Runners up, league cup winners etc)
Champions League being just that
Cup Winners Cup being brought back

Won't happen though

Then the tournament would be absolutely sh*te as a result.

The gulf in money between the elite leagues compared to the second and third tier leagues is absolutely massive, without the odd exception the majority can no longer compete.

A group containing Juventus, BATE Borisov, HJK Helsinki and Sparta Prague really wouldn't set the pulse racing would it?

(Just using those teams as a random example btw)

What teams don't take it seriously though? The English ones? Even then it is only when they are knocked out!

Then don't call it the Champions League, call it the 'loadsamoney super -dee-f**king dooper' league and handpick who you want in it.

Yeah as you say, you'd be swiftly shown the Business Case, laughed out of it, stripped of your delegate status and escorted from the premises.
