Lazaro already doing enough to suggest he should've been on from the start.

Though as highlighted on BBC coverage perhaps a cheeky draw so both finish on 4 points and probably go through

These things generally happen as a game progresses - first 20 minutes all cagey, bit of action for 10-15 and then keep it tight for till half time… same again 2nd half but happy with a draw kicks in at about 60. Things come a cropper when a sub comes in to prove a point.

Hans Krankl ?

And the 1934 Wunderteam with Mattias Sindalar (murdered by Nazis).

Without googling it, didn't they beat West Germany at the 82 world cup which I think was supposed to have been one of the big shocks? It would've been a group game obviously.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Are you serious ???

The infamous ‘Shame Game’.

They beat them in 78, Hans Krankl 3-2.

jaysis muff 82 was the great fix betweenGermany and Austria. Germany needed to win by 1 or two goals and both team go through.   They both went through.

In fairness lads, you'd hardly expect a lad who wasnt born at the time of the fixture to know it's every detail........

You could say that about the English but they can recall 1966 as if it was yesterday .

Ah that's what it was. That rings a bell alright. Thumbs Up  I vaguely remember it being mentioned in some documentary years ago. As I said I didn't google it.

I was probably confusing that Austrian win with Cameroon's shock victory over Argentina in 1990.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

1-0 saw both teams through.
Any other score and one of them went at the expense of Algeria.

Germans scored early and then played tiki-taki in their own half for 80 mins.
