Absolutely they played some great stuff. Give anyone a game playing like that.
i doubt they'd have much hope against the very top sides. ukraine tonight were wide open and left the dutch approach the box without pressing far too often.
none of the top sides will allow that to happen.

well their competitive results over the past 12 months would say otherwise. for example  scraping past poland in amsterdam and coming from behind to score two late goals in warsaw to snatch the win, drawing with bosnia and losing to turkey. a draw with italy the one truly impressive result having already lost to the italians in amsterdam.

they may get past one of the pre-tournament favourites but their form suggests they'll not get past a second. the quarters seems to be their limit or if they get a handy 3rd place team in the last 16 they may get to the semi but that's at a push.

I thought that too. Ukraine were much better than I'd imagined. They should definitely beat Austria.

Zinchenko looked very good too, obviously a talented footballer, but always had the air of a youth team player at City. He looked like a leader in that team, I wonder if he'd get a shot at being CM for City next year or two.

the ukrainian national anthem is certainly up there with the russian anthem.

His arm was up very high. Just because you're not looking at the ball doesn't mean you don't know what you're doing. Felt it prob was a penalty. Decent enough game overall - more entertaining than expected.

De Jong imperious and Dumfries impressive. Dacent game so far.

Could do with a better forward than Weghorst, though.

Austria offering very little here. Netherlands solid without having to exert themselves.

Dutch should've killed them off by now. Hopefully they live to regret it for the sake of my bet.

Surprising how little tattoos are on show. Memphis probably has more than every other player on the pitch put together.

Awful aren't they. Even when they're hosts they were crap.

In my lifetime, they've been to 2 WC's and 2 EC's - never been out of the group stage, this will make it 5/5

Dutch still quite attacking. A better team than Austria would have a couple good chances yet. But they're so toothless.

Hopefully Kalajdzic will do something, he seems to be highly rated.
