Pointless match the Charity Shield.

At the end of the day the result doesn't mean jacksh*t.

A charity Shield medal hardly takes pide of place on a footballers cv.

I dont think anyone really values the result of the match,in essence its a pre season friendly which raises a lot of money for charity and has been going for 100 years..

Theres only one sport that matters..

thats not my point - my point was that it was a great way of raising money for charity. its a pre season match ffs. You were on here saying how great it was that sunderland were beating athletico madrid and celtic beating spurs in pre season tournaments. are they pointless matches? no, because it helps players get fit and brings your squad together. The charity shield is similar, with the added benefit of raising money for charities.

i'm sure a charity shield medal doesn't mean a lot to a player but either would a medal for winning the emirates cup or the wembley tournament - doesnt make them pointless
