Is the like of Pulis, who is being used as an example here, going to leave being the main man at a championship club to being the defensive coach at a top 6 EPL club? Not even the assistant manager, just the defensive coach?
Klopp, Guardiola etc all have specialist defensive, goalkeeper coaches etc as part of their backroom team who have been with them and won trophies with them for years. Why would brining in a british manager who specializes in setting up as 2 banks of 4, scoring from crosses, long balls and set pieces in order to keep teams up be a logical move?

It's early enough days obviously, but that £22m for Mitrovic is looking like a bit of a steal already.

It was only an example but if you pay enough these people will come. Every player can improve and marginal gains make a difference.

Who is Guardiola defensive and goalkeeping coach?
Would these guys only work with the first team or do they get involved in the coaching of the other teams - reserves, U19 etc

I’m genuinely interested in how they are set up.

They obviously have coaches and managers at each level but do they have specialised divisions (say Goalkeeping) that work with all levels?

I was just curious after Klopp has hired a ‘throw in’ coach.
Those Germans think of everything.

From watching the City documentary he seems to have a big backroom team of mostly Spanish coaches. Not sure if there is a defensive and goalkeeper coach among them but I would imagine so. There are about 7 or 8 of them in the changing rooms along with Guardiola.
The assistant manager who you always saw beside Pep on the bench left in the summer to manage New York City and Arteta was promoted to assistant.

Felipe Anderson had a good game for West Ham on Saturday. They could have taken something from the game with a bit more composure in front of goal.

Arsenal still scarily bad defensively. Emery will get it right given time but it will take real patience with the board to stick by what could be a dodgy season. So many good attacking players, yet so paper weight defensively!

Btw how he's still has Cech number 1 I don't know. They are still passing Cech the ball as well which is just amazing to watch LOL seriously though, great keeper altogether and sad to see how far off his good days he now is

Ah ya, but there's done, and there's DONE. If he rocked up to a league 2 club and nobody knew him, he'd be out on his arse after s couple of weeks. He is now miles off a basic PL goalkeeper standard, let alone the very best. There's a bit of the City version of Claudio Bravo about him now. Really is sad to see.

Newspaper reports today that Bobby Madeley was sacked after sending a Snapchat mocking a disabled man.

Better than being caught f**king dogs I suppose as was initially rumoured

Did Johnny Evans go to Leicester? Has he played yet?
Remember everyone saying about a year ago that he'd walk onto the City and Arsenal teams and was definitely worth £30m

Jean Michael Seri has looked a very good player at Fulham so far.
City should have gone for him when the Jorginho move fell through. He was linked previously along with Fred.

He turned down Barcelona for Fulham, Xavi was trying to turn his turn head to Spain, he was hardly going to go to City if he decided against Barcelona.

Apparently he likes to talk to all clubs interested and choose the one who makes him who he feels genuinely want him the most rather than the best one. An unusual approach in today's era.

So he has issues with cold climates, yet turned down Barcelona for Fulham?

Hmmmm.
