The first English league I went to was Brentford v Exeter City in the old division 3 in December 1991. I’ve always had a soft spot for them. Dean Holdsworth was playing for them at the time.
That question catches a lot of people out.  Who was the top scorer in the first premier league season?

Dean Holdsworth
Pied Piper to: Baldrick, Brendan 88, 9Fingers, Borussia and more...

I think Fulham would compete more than Brentford would if they were to go up

Really? Brentford play some nice attacking football with some genuinely talented players, but I suppose that style could get ripped apart in the PL. Would rather Brentford go up, but I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Fulham go up given their Irish players.

They largely kept the squad they went down with aside from a few notable faces - Sessegnon etc but the spine of the team never really changed however Tony Khan will be suffering severe losses more than your typical football owner not with just Fulham but his NFL and Wrestling franchises so I can't imagine there will be much money available if they went up

I’d say Brentford have more attacking talent.
Watkins and Benrahma will be in the premier league soon with or without Brentford.

Just add Duffy to the squad and they have a fighting chance.

It would be good to see a new team in the EPL and Brentford is a well run club. One season in the EPL will probably pay off a large chunk of their new stadium and set them up for years.

Fulham's Irish interest looks like being just Cyrus Christie. Harry Arter has said that he won't be staying with Fulham whether they go up or not and that he will either be back at Bournemouth or elsewhere. Strange, given that Fulham manager Scott Parker is his brother-in-law. I wonder has there been a falling out ? I don't recall his absence from the play-offs with Cardiff being ascribed to injury, or mentioned at all, by the match commentators.

I can see why that catches a lot of people out.

Dean scored 19.

But Teddy scored 22 and Les 20.

The Richest Game In Football™ is goalless and gone to extra-time

Not a great advert for the Second Division

WBA are known as the boing boing club for a reason... Their sole purpose is to get promoted then relegated again the next season. I’ve lost count how many times they’ve done that now Big smile
