Their 2nd highest earner (Besic) has only played 9 times in the league too.

A lot of their low earners have been instrumental in their success so far, so they could find themselves in a bit of bother if they all come looking for contract re-negotiations.

Those ages are accurate as of the start of 2019 so I would guess it is based on what they were on at that time, namely in the case of Jagielka and Besic the amount they were earning at Everton rather than their salary this season. I'd be amazed if Jagielka was on that sum at the moment.

Phil Jagielka signed a 1 year / £2,600,000 contract with the Sheffield United F.C., including an annual average salary of £2,600,000. In 2019, Jagielka will earn a base salary of £2,600,000, while carrying a cap hit of £2,600,000.

There’s no way they could sign a player like McBurnie for £20m and pay him less than £50,000 a week. The wages don’t match the fee, you’d expect him to be on £70,000+ at the very least.

If I were Egan and Stephens and on those wages I’d demand a new deal worth multiples of that or I’m gone out the door. With those wages, another club could buy out the contract for peanuts.

Quality finish from Stevens. Looks quality going forward. we'll play mcclean in the more advanced position if fit, but I cant say that is our best option

Calf injury, though Wilder seems to think he might be OK for their next league game which is another 2 weeks away.

Picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.....

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder confirms Enda Stevens was withdrawn as a "precautionary measure", not with a recurrence of the calf injury he sustained last month. #sufc #twitterblades
