That was great alright.Clap

Drove through East New York (where the documentary is based) a few times and it is hands down the roughest looking place I've ever seen.

Meru - About a group of mountain climbers trying to scale part of the Indian Himalayas, definitely worth watching.

Pumping Iron - Wasn't a fan. Ferrigno comes across like an absolute simpleton.

World War II in colour - 12 part docu-series. Fantastic watch.

Forbidden Games - The Justin Fashanu story. Recommend watching it.

Icarus - Amateur cyclist tries a doping programme and becomes caught up in the Russian doping scandal. Fantastic.

Gonna start the climbers docu now .

Yeah, thought it was excellent. As a big boxing fan and an Irish person living abroad, it was interesting on both topics.

Am I totally wrong in thinking there was another documentary done a number of years back on Sean Mannion ?

Just watched "A long shot"on Netflix, Some lad getting tried for a murder he says he didn't commit, whilst trying to to prove he was at a Dodgers game at the same time,
great watch and only 40 mins long. Larry David pops up tooClap

Meru is brilliant, proper hardship trying to scale that peak.

Great story how your man gets cleared in Long Shot.

Just watched it, brilliant doc. Sad at times too, especially considering he ended up with nothing really from his career. Very strong division at the time too with McCallum, Hearns, Duran and Leonard as possible opponents.

There's an RTE Doc on One podcast about him too called "Never Knocked Down".

Thought Everest was excellent IIRC.

He wouldn't set me free,

No haven't seen it? Any use?

Excellent, Same story but better than paradise lost trilogy imo, produced by Peter Jackson.
You should defo check it out

Cheers for that, watched it over the weekend. Good watch, but seriously one sided. Appears to be a lot of evidence again the father in law. Wonder why they haven't brought him in for serious questioning.

Fair enough.

You'd want to have some screw loose doing that anyway.

Thought Everest was good. Found all the bits of info about how the different altitudes affects climbers interesting as I didn't know about it before.

Like Butch, the thing I liked about Meru was that I didn't know anything about it before I watched it. As you said HB, you'd want to have some screw loose, climbing for over 2 weeks with minimal food and rest.

If you lads liked Meru and Everest then I would recommend 'The Summit'. It's a documentary about the 2008 K2 disaster and the Irish lad in it is a serious buzzer.
