With Shane Duffy captaining Ireland last night was up in Derry City a fortnight ago interviewed Johnny Crossan.

Banned as a teenager from all football ended up marking Alfredo Di Stefano of Real Madrid in a European Cup Semi Final.

Great city, lovely people by the way.

Aside from the Derry connection, I'm struggling to see the relevance to the Irish team.  Crossan played for the North.

The older Sunderland supporters speak very highly of Johnny. I remember reading an article a couple of years ago saying that he was still playing football and he had a five a side pitch at the back of his pub in Derry not sure if this is still the case?
Double Maxim without doubt the greatest drink in the world
