Impressive ticket sales from Derry city fans.

Derry City fans are on course to break their own FAI Cup final attendance record such has been the demand for tickets ahead of the game against Shelbourne at the Aviva Stadium on November 13.

Ahead of the club’s first FAI Cup final in eight years, ticket sales have been relentless, with the governing body announcing over the weekend that between both clubs, over 20,000 tickets have already been sold.

Derry on top already and likely to stay there, good strength in depth and have at least 5 or 6 top players at this level. Theirs to lose imo and a handy 7pt gap to Rovers already! Go on the muckers!

Still no info on Whelan's ACL injury?

So he kept me soul for ransom.

Strange that it takes so long. I'd have expected 2/3 days, but it's nearly 3 weeks now.

Derry are very secretive about injured players for some reason.

Surely they'd know by now. As you said, very strange.

One thing for sure is that pitch doesn't help. Time for a change.
Agree re Whelan, say they know and not telling us everything.

A change of surface won't be that easy for them as it's owned by the council and other teams use it. It's a disaster of a pitch though, no arguing with that.

Heard Vinny Perth mention that a proper playable astro would have set you back close to a 500k when he was with Dundalk. I'd say you could add another bit to that these days.

I was talking to a former Derry City player about this and he believes the pitch is a nightmare for the team, some of them say it cost them the league last year and they all want to play on grass. Ownership by the Council is the problem, that and the fact that it is over-used.
