Fair play to chairman Phil O'Doherty, trying to get the centre of excellence in the town also. That be a real plus.
Well he’s got 1.2 billion to play with now!

Don’t be bitter! Your mucker Delaney went after Derry when the whole league was at it. Harps will benefit from this getting loan players on a regular basis. Nursery club type of arrangement 😉

Yep, looking forward to the challange next season, with Shels back up, full crowds back, it should be a better league than this season. Pity theres unlikely to be a team from Galway, Cork or Limerick in it.

I think the gap is too big between Derry and rovers, to close in one season. Realistically it'll take 2/3 years to challenge. Rovers have quality in every position, and while it was 2-1 the other night, rovers where miles ahead.

100% re the other towns without a team in the top tier, takes away from it a bit.

Rovers could have a bit of a rebuild next season with a few of their big players the wrong side of 30 , Dundalk likely to be starting again squad wise and Bohs and Pats likely to lose a few  could be a great chance for Derry given what they have already added and are likely to add.

I disagree. Rovers were no great shakes. They got the job done as so many other teams were so poor. They are also aging big time. Rovers struggled to beat us first match then we drew there and won at home which was by no means smash and grab. Derry if they add another on or two I woud fancy them to get really close. They have a good manager and a feel good factor. I regrettably think they will be there thereabouts

They're an aging team and any strong team can beat them on their day but over the course of a season, they are still too experienced for the other teams and will win games where the other teams will drop points. Look at the late winners they've gotten this season whereas Pats, Bohs, Sligo and lately Derry have all dropped points in games they have been in winning positions, or should have been winning.

Rovers definitely need some younger players in their team but the rest are still a season or 2 off a realistic challenge. Keep that quiet from Declan McBennett though.
