The away end looks good now for the pitch invasion.

Ronan Hale joins on loan from Birmingham. Brother of Rory who joined fron Galway already. On another note the local paper reporting the Brandywell pitch hasnt been fully set yet and not sure if it will be finished for the first home game.

Nicky Low rejoins on a six month loan deal. A massive coup for Derry, he was a real class act last season and the fans are delighted to have him back.

How is the Derry squad looking for this year? Is there a chance of a push for a European place?

It is looking not too bad. Barry McNamee, Lukas Schubert, Aaron Barry and Dean Jarvis have left as have a few squad players. Lots of players brought in though- Gavin Peers, Rory Hale, Jamie McDonagh and Armin Agnaovic having league experience of course with Nicky Low now as well. A few brought in from England and Scotland, one from America. Don't know about a European spot. Might need to win the FAI cup this year.

The Ryan McBrandywell stadium. Big smile

Nice gesture all right. Clap Shows what he meant to the club.

5-0 in the first game back at the refurbished Brandywell. It's one hell of a job they have done on it. Bit sceptical about the 3G pitch but we played some lovely stuff on it tonight. Official opening of the Mark Farren stand with MON in attendance. A fabulous night for the whole city.

Derry lucky to win that, don't know how Pats didnt get at least a point. That miss at the end from Hopkirk (I think) nearly came back to haunt them.

2 great strikes by McEneff.

It was Randall that missed, not Hopkirk. Lucky for Derry that Jason King wasn't playing.

Lucky to pick up the three points last night. Pats are a nice footballing team but lack a bit of cutting edge or spark. Still should probably have got a draw at least. McEneff showed his quality. Everyone else put in a shift. Missed Nicky Low as well. He is a quality wee player. Think with a good draw we could win the cup this year.

Hopkirk missed from two yards late on I believe this is what he is referring too.

While it's great to see them try to play it out from the back, it's definitely going to be to their detriment, as shown last night with Toner, and Desmond to a lesser extent, getting caught on a few occasions.

Yeah there were a few misplaced passes but for the most part I was impressed with how they moved it. Unless you are Man City or Barca that will happen when playing out from the back. Lacked a bit of spark in the final third though that was the big problem.

7 wins on the spin for Derry. Looking like a real classy outfit at the minute. The experience of Patterson, Doherty and Peers is essential. The Hale brothers look brilliant prospects, McEneff, McDermott and Curtis are the three who could really push to get a move across the water. Eoin Toal at centre back as well, young man just 19 big future ahead. Great run at the minute but huge test on Friday night now away to Dundalk.

Fair play to Derry but of the 6 wins in the league 5 were at home and one away to Sligo. The next two games will give us a decent indication of where Derry are. If you're lucky Bradley's project might still be in action Friday week.
