Why's that? It's handy for organising the odd event and also for keeping in touch with people who live abroad.

One of my mates deleted his Facebook a while ago - never explained why. I just assumed it was cos he was messaging young wans when sauced (he has a missus) but that's just one possible theory!

Don't spend much time on it these days. Its full of people tagging each other in stupid unfunny memes or videos, or people wishing their 2 year olds a happy birthday, or their 85 year old mothers a happy mothers day, neither of which would have a facebook account to view the message I'm sure.

Don't forget reminding people they barely know of the anniversary of the passing of a loved one or family pet.

More than likely cause he was sick of twats trying to validate they're life. I deleted mine ages ago and I'm 100% happier for it. Surprise surprise annoying fools annoy you and put you in a bad mood. Everything that its handy for is easily done another way, I'm not missing events or losing contact with people

I’m interested if this thread has been inspired by the Cambridge Analytica scandal? I’m actually amazed it hasn’t been discussed here.

An excellent resource for sliding into one’s private messages with the intention of getting your bishop bashed away.

Yeah that's fair enough, although in that instance I would suggest just not using/looking at the app so much. If nothing else it's handy to be able to see those Facebook videos that pop up on the aul Whatsapp every now and again.

deleted mine around 5 years ago. never missed it. Hated people on craving attention looking for "likes" to feel relevant. People posting to make their lives seem perfect whenever they're not. Christmas time pissed me of most, single tramps with 4 or 5 childer to different blokes posting up pictures of a housefull of presents and them lying up on the bru getting the house paid and able to afford all this while getting snaked all over the show. Some buckets about, just annoyed me. Now I don't see it I don't get bothered. Whatsapp is good for keeping in touch with family abroad.

A close knit whatsapp group will do the trick for keeping in touch.
No need for pics of kids birthdays/communions/Bar mitsaf etc.
Plus you get no ads and no “prayer/thought for today” posts etc.
Why do I need to know that a girl I used to work with likes a cake shop in Galway?

Hate it, always have and always will. It's just one of many huge mega companies that take all your info and make billions and offer nothing of value to the world.

Well the Cambridge Analytica story has started a delete your facebook account campaign so I was wondering if anyone had, cause if you read the Things That Annoy the fook out of you thread. Facebook comes up a lot on it, and I know there are many that have said they are close to closing their accounts.

And that CA story, that must just be the tip of the ice berg of the amount of information that is taken and misused.

A question for those that hate Israel, do you like Kit Kats? LOL
