Rice isn’t going to do that. Not a hope.

Might suit us that he has a stinker today!

Wise up

Shows how highly rated he is to keep his place despite West Ham signing some very good players in the window.

West Ham could do well this season.

Now it’s to negotiate the best contract possible for him.

He will certainly stick with ireland.

Not a doubt in my mind that he’ll play for Ireland. He’s made from a different mould than Grealish and won’t have his head turned by agents.

Perhaps the one negative thing stemming from his emergence in the West Ham midfield is that he will probably stunt Josh Cullen’s development.

He was far from the worst in that 1st half, unfortunate for him.
We're decent enough..

The midfield was awful generally. He was no worse than the others.

Fixed that for ya.
Was always gonna be tough against that Liverpool team. Hopefully he's not used as a scapegoat and dropped from the team.

Interesting piece on Declan Rice in Independent. It looks likely that he'll start in midfield for the Wales game before being allowed to drop down to the U-21s  for their qualifier with Germany.

Hopefully he does get to feature for the 21s. They’ve a strong squad with a decent smithering of players playing first team football which is a rarity for us at this level usually.

They’ve still a half decent chance of qualifying.

Our underage sides offer a slight glimmer of hope for the future. I see Troy Parrott has already been promoted to Spurs' U-23 side at aged 16 and started for them yesterday against Liverpool at Anfield. Kelleher, Whelan and McAuley started for Liverpool. Masterson was on the bench.

All of our underage squads are promising at the moment. The U-21's are probably actually the most modest of them, but even they have a decent smattering of quality.
We're decent enough..

Was always gonna happen given he was whipped off at half time last week. Hopefully Bournemouth trash them again this week.

He'll be in and out of the side this year, which is to be expected given the amount of "big money signings" they've made this summer.
We're decent enough..

Delighted they have lost today after making Rice the whipping boy for last week.
