So Bohs get their debts cleared and get to lease a maintained and improved Dalyer back. Good for them.

But Shels presumably still hold their debts and move from one rented accomodation to another. Not such a good deal for them, but they have no cards to play.

A ground share between Bohs and Shels is a good idea all the same. Hopefully a redevelpoment doesnt take as long as Tallaght stadium did . Two of Dublins bigger inner-city clubs having a decent ground can only be a good thing. . .

Excellent news if it goes ahead , given it's central location hopefully Dalyer will again attract International under age fixtures , Tallaght is a fine ground but it is just too far out & is not well served by pubs etc.

They both had decent grounds. They both let their grounds fall into disrepair. There is a moral hazard here - this will be Bohs third bailout and another €3m of taxpayers money going to a bank.

But overall its a good thing, I agree.

Do Bohs not owe their members the guts of a million. Presumably that has to go back too?

500k apparently .

The DCC wont honour the purchase unless the ground is fully theirs . Zurich bank own a fair whack of the ground as an asset due to Bohs failing to service their debts. DCC will pay off Zurich and Bohs must get their house in order and repay their debts to sponsors and members. Bohs debt with Zurich will be nil and their outstanding debt will solely be to these sponsors and member. Thats what I make out of it but I could be wrong ....

I agree with that they only have themselves to blame , both clubs that is. That said however its better for the league if these (and all) clubs can sort their finanaces and cut their cloth to their measure from now on . .

Will Bohs fans stop their "homeless" chants now?

Beat me too it. They will actually be more 'homeless' than Rovers if this goes through.

This is a long way off still. Shels fans are going nuts and there is no guarantee that the permanantly bewildered that is the Bohs membership will sign off on this. Also, a decent diry tricks campaign from the local Agri sports enthusiasts could throw spanners in works - unlike Tallaght which is a public facility, this is the state giving a bank millions to hand the ground to a private sports organisation, there isn't even a mention of 'community'. If positioned right this could turn into a hot potato.

No. They will be renting from the council. In fact subletting from the FAI. So if we are 'homeless' so are they.

Have been going to Dalymount for 45 years for club and International games. It's a sorry sight now and anything that improves that situation is more than welcome.

Yep , but not surprising.

The clubs are messing things up themselves but the FAI aren't doing enough to help the league. The cuts of 2011 (500k) where disgraceful . Fee's for entering teams into the league remain unsustainable for a lot of clubs while JD still gets top coin for his many bluffs and his political manoevers . Club's aren't helping themselves but they arent being helped either. Vicious cycle it is .
