Article from yesterday says he's with the squad here in Ireland and ready to fight for his place in EPL

Ten hours later, Rafa says he's on his bike once a suitable offer comes in

Well he's a professional, He obviously knows Newcastle were going to listen to offers for him.

Did you expect him to just down tools?

The comments about McCarthy so true in terms of being linked with about 100 players.

Forest fans get incredibly irate when their team is referred to as Notts Forest, which is nice.

Seems to be an outpouring of grief from Toon fans over his departure. They loved him.

3 year deal; dawg getting paid.

He done more than was expected of him at Newcastle tbh that's why fans warmed to him.

He knew quite well he was being brought in to be the backup for the backup. But when the backup form was great he stepped up and got some very vital goals Brentford and Huddersfield away.

He also knew that we were promoted he'd leave. A real pro

Had recurrent fitness issues last season, too.

I remember reading that Dave O'Leary got given a 3-year deal at Leeds when he signed for them at the age of 35. Only managed about a dozen games for them before he was forced to retire through injury.

I was at the game. He played very well and was in the right place at the right time tap in his poachers goal.
