I'd say Gibson has endeared himself to a lot of Sunderland fans for his, cough, honesty. Prob best if he wasn't locked when saying it

Surprised if the club didn't punish him after all the PR disasters the clubs been involved with recently

Club confirming he's facing punishment, the statement managed to get the club's name wrong and Gibbo's name wrong, Sunderland can't even get that right LOL

His best game in a Sunderland shirt.

Helped by the fact the opposition are sh*t scared to close anyone in midfield down giving him free reign to pass it whenever and wherever he likes which you won't find at International level.. But yeah, he's earned himself a pint and a shot of Sambuca tonight.

LOLLOL

I'm not sure what's worse, the endorsement he got who no one outside the NE of England actually cares about or the fact he must've been watching the wrong game as the finely named Gooch got it.

Gibson - 7

Anchored the midfield and, in McGeady’s absence, took the set-pieces. deserves credit today.

From the Evening Chronicle.

Sunderland Echo:-

Darron Gibson enjoyed his best performance in a Sunderland shirt, especially once the Black Cats went down to ten men after Lee Cattermole was booked twice within a minute in the second half.
Gibson was Sunderland's best midfielder on the ball second half and worked hard off the ball too, pressing and winning the ball back from the Wolves midfield.

Coleman praised Gibson, describing the midfielder's positional play as "outstanding".

Gibson stepped up following Cattermole's red card and helped lead the Sunderland midfield against a lively Wolves side .

But Sunderland deserved credit for a resilient defensive showing, with Gibson leading the way in the holding midfield role.

"Darron Gibson played smart, his positional play was outstanding and it needed to be to counter the movement from Wolves' front three," said Coleman.

Perhaps things are finally starting to turn for Gibson at Sunderland.

MOTM for us vs Wolves too, seems to have his head out of his arse and is supposedly flying it in training as his fitness levels have taken a sharp up turn for the better.

Pleasing all round because he's a decent player when he wants to be.

Quality never in doubt, injuries and lifestyle hampered him. Let’s see how he gets on against that midfield colossus Whelan when they play the Villa, if he shines there we know he’s on the way back!

Injured now out for three months +
