No risk in calling Crowley up, personally think he would be able. Why wait and risk losing him further down the line? As for Ronan think he may have switched, has not been involved in the last few 21 squads.

Connor Ronan's switching as well?  Hadn't heard that.  Would be another big disappointment if true. Ouch

There’s no reason to think he is. In and out of the walsall team, so probably just not making the cut

Don’t think he can switch anyway

I think he could theoretically - you're allowed one switch at a "competitive" or recognised fifa age-group, and his appearances for England were U15 or something, so he still has a switch in him.

If he did switch at u21 or another competitive level, as Grealish did, he couldn't switch back even if he never got a senior cap.  Anyway good to hear from Dec that there's prob nothing to the story.

Yeah he can defo still switch. I wouldnt be as optimistic as you lads but hopefully you're right. He hadn't been in the 21's squad for a while before he went on loan to Walsall and King hasn't mentioned him at all  which you would expect him to do when he is in his usual making excuses mode before/after games. No news is bad news IMO.

Yeah, but he hasn’t cropped up in any reports about England looking for him either

Ronan is in danger of being the next Conor Clifford, highly rated but on his second unproductive loan spell and just treading water.

Yeah but there’s no evidence Ronan has refused a call up

He did well at Portsmouth, had a few injury issues though IIRC.
We're decent enough..

Finding his feet with Willem II in the Dutch Eredivisie, Dan Crowley is still patiently waiting for international recognition from Martin O'Neill. Born in Coventry, but of an Irish persuasion, the former Arsenal man has been afforded a rare dual perspective of international football. Representing both the Republic of Ireland and England at U-16 and U-17 levels, the 21-year-old midfielder has no doubts about where his heart lies. Construed as something of a rebellious figure (he has represented five clubs in his short career; not including Arsenal), Dan Crowley doesn't believe the English international set-up is well equipped to deal with rebels. Speaking to The Telegraph, Crowley reiterated his desire to play for the Republic of Ireland first and foremost. Grateful for the opportunity he was afforded within the underage English system, it's just not for him.

"When I have gone away with England I have never felt like it was me," Crowley admitted.

"You are not allowed an opinion for England. If you do you are seen to have a bad attitude."

Playing his third season in the Netherlands (he also played for Go Ahead Eagles), Crowley has found himself warming to the Dutch approach to football.

Somewhat more welcoming of rebels, Crowley wasn't reluctant to point out more flaws in current English set-up.

Scrutinising their approach to younger academy products, Crowley, in a similar tone to Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, is particularly critical of an U-23 system that does little to prepare young players for the rigours of the first-team game.

"This is the problem for English youngsters: where do you take the next step? U-23s football is not competitive enough," Crowley explained.

"There are no fans and you are not playing for anything. I wasn't ready for the first team or the Championship. League One wasn't my football. I needed to play."

A technically gifted #10, it is a small wonder that Crowley hasn't been heard of within Irish footballing circles in recent years. In 2015, Martin O'Neill was understood to have conversed with Crowley's father.

pretty depressing stuff that he seems not to even be on MON's radar... there is more potential for the future in this lad than the likes of meyler and williams... give him a shot

Can a journalist not ask the question? Or has it been asked? The fact that Crowley is declaring for us via the press suggests that MON has not been in contact. Which is baffling.

he seems to be doing well but i doubt he will be victim of circumstance as regards the whole MON regime and sacking... unlikely Mick will call upon him to throw him straight into competitive action.

the friendlies and nations league would have been a great time to try and embed him into the squad... such a waste of a year its shocking...

3 goals and 7 assists this season, and he plays in a position where we've lacked options since Wes's retirement. He can't be too far away from contention, surely.
