Shades of Gary Breen to Inter.

Christie was linked with Sporting Lisbon in the summer, too.

Was at Craven Cottage yesterday and Cyrus came on. He was brilliant. Best I've seen him play. If he is in the squad and comes off the bench and plays like he did yesterday I'll be very happy

Always felt bad for Cyrus that he became the butt of so many jokes. He didn’t choose to play in midfield, that was O’Neills masterstroke. He’s always busted a gut for us and never opted out of a squad. He may have his limitations, but don’t all of them?
You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"

100% agree Dec. Was made a scapegoat due to bad management. I always felt he actually did ok at RB for us anytime he was called upon and not a bad 3rd choice for us for now.

He's a good player who did well for us when Coleman was injured.

Then O'Neill puts him in midfield, plays badly and he's not seen again.

It was far across the sea,
When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

Thought he performed admirably against Germany when he was plunged in at the deep end in 2015. Could never fault his endeavour and could never understand the criticism he got.

But apparently Ireland doesn't have a racism problem, or something

'It was a kid - that's why it shocked me.' Cyrus Christie on being racially abused by a child at Ireland training in Dublin, he opened up about his continued experiences of racial abuse from Irish fans while representing the country #OTBAM Full story - https://bit.ly/2PK8OKD
