No drastic rise in deaths because the main demographic of the new wave is 15-44. But this 2nd strain is still getting into the care sector despite all the apologies and promises.

Isn’t that who we want to catch the virus?

Yes and no really. The young are usually asymptomatic and pass it on to the parents and then co-workers who then pass it on to elder generations and then it becomes a problem.
And because this is a 2nd strain the elder generation don't have the antibodies for it.

Even if lockdown 2.0 happened absolutely no one will abide to it, they'll just go on a 200 mile drive to test their eye sight like a certain someone did.

Some witch hunt going on here for some lad because he got tested on Wednesday, went out on the lash on an all day bender yesterday without getting his result back and today  he tested positive Ouch

Family pubs and all sorts he went to during his all day bender. He’s single handedly closed down a dozen places!

I have been to a few pubs this weekend and it's obvious the pubs will be going back to normal on the 10 th.  I'm currently  in a pub and there must be over 50 people in here,  there's not enough space for special distance. Food is optional. Garda station is only around the corner.

The Gardai clearly don't care. They have better things to do.

Second wave is hitting Australia to the point they’re imposing draconian measures;

Not allowed outside between hours of 8pm and 5am unless working and only allowed 5km when you are allowed out.

This second wave appears to be hurting the countries who cleaned up the first wave so I fear when it hits mainland Europe hard.

Australia never had a wave, hence why now it’s appearing to hit harder. They’d a terrible testing record as well. America looks horrific, but they’ve tested more then anywhere else in the world pretty much from day 1.
The reality in Europe is, the likes of Spain Italy England those the virus would have killed, its already killed a lot of them. Europe had a good flu season last winter with a lower level of deaths than normal. But let’s not talk sense, let’s get the hazmat suit out.

England/Spain for example, cases are rocketing... no rocketing in deaths. We where told there would be a spike from Black lives matter, Liverpool celebrations when they won the league, same for Leeds. Boris has told us two weeks the U.K. will have a spike. 6 days away and there’s f**k all signs of that either.

China has more tests in total, and the US didn't start to exceed test levels of other countries until around the end of March.

Some clown yer are!

Cases are absolutely rampant in England and Spain right now. R rate over 1 in 26 different councils, Madrid and Barcelona totally out of control.

Already explained the demographics why there's no spike in deaths, if you wanna be that thick please yourself but there's other factors involved such as long-term implications scarring of the lungs to be considered also so no having 20 year olds or 30 year olds isn't a good thing at all.

Also America looks horrific because it actually is horrific - There's states like Florida never really locked down to begin withand Texas where you're discriminated for actually wearing a mask so horrific is a generous word it over there!

The numbers don’t seem that high in Australia but that’s when you compare them to the UK / Brazil which have never been in control.

They are heading into Winter so looking to stop it now. They can do what NZ did but then they need to close the airports.

But like NZ, no tourists means massive loss of income for a high % of the population.

The numbers only tell half the story sometimes. The best measure they use is how many days will it take for the current number to double, Italy and the UK back in April were doubling every 3 days for example.

Spain was only getting 500 cases per day when they were put back on the red alert list then it jumped up to 3000 then last 2 days they haven't reported any numbers cos they don't have a clue it's that bad now.

Likewise with Luxumbourg who are the only other European country on the red alert list, only 90 cases per day but a small dense population cos turn into thousands in 3 days easy.

Oh wise up. No it’s not, there’s more testing here. There’s more testing in regions of England than the entirety of the island of Ireland. There is going to be more cases with more testing. However, no drastic rise in deaths.

There's no drastic rise in deaths because there's a four to eight week delay in those figures. People dying today almost certainly caught it in June.

Meanwhile a state of emergency has been declared in Greater Manchester due to the spike there. England is having a bad pandemic generally because of poor government. Dr Michael Levitt, a Nobel Laureate whose predictions are said to have been highly accurate to date, is of the view that Ireland will not have to suffer a second wave.
