Yes, good point....that guy was causing havoc up front with his pace and skill and creating the opportunities for Hourihane to come through the middle.

Our solution to having a dearth of midfield players of the necessary quality is a midfield player who has looked out of his depth when he has played international football!

When he played for us he had McClean and o bowda on either side of him because our management have no clue. Get your facts at least.
I didn't realise that was our midfield against Iceland too.............

Open to correction but I make it 7 goals for Conor from midfield this season Clap

Granted he hasn't pulled up any trees in an Ireland shirt thus far, but I think he's a decent player and will need a run of games in the side to actually show his true potential imo (then we can say he's either brilliant or sh*te for Ireland) LOL

Would Hourihane be any use as a number 10? Haven’t seen too much of him, but from the few bits I have seen, he chips in with enough assists and goals to warrant a chance in our starting team, but he doesn’t appear to do enough in defense (for a midfielder), so could he play in a more advanced role?

he plays well either left or right of a 3 man midfield, gives him more license to join in with attacks
