Heading to RUS v POR now. I went to CAMvCHI, I knew already Chile travelled in big numbers or at least tickets sales were good for them. The new-build Spartak metro is a long walk to sections 6 & 7. So I'm in the same section again and will try Tuskinskaya this time.
THe 33,492 at CAMvCHI felt less than 33,492 but as a UCD Fan I'm not used to the big numbers. First half, 'Mexican Wave' made 5 circuits of the Stadium. Only twice early in second half. The references to VAR on this thread, Chilean Fans were celebrating a goal even after ref. signalled with a box shape. But the boos started coming with the delay. The referee's signal free-out was the only message that a goal was disallowed. Because the disallowed goal was on 45+1 minutes. When the player were still on pitch heading for the dressing room a computerised message stuttered "Cameroon..and...Chile..nothing,nothING". Then repeated in Russian "...nulla,nulLa". Just rubbing it in. |

If they plan on using it in the World Cup, you'd imagine they'll figure out how to use the big screens to show the crowd if it is a goal or not.

It will be one of the most novel ways ever used to incite a riot.

Well, it depends if they use it agin' the Russians. Other than that, it'll be grand.
It doesn't cause riots at 'Murican football games, and they're attended by roving gangs of tanked up, in bred trogs. |

The Russian anthem is still f**king bombastic and fantastic. It's a song you'd go to war with.

Well it's one the main reasons why it isn't shown at football games now, they show the Vid Ref replays in rugby and there is never trouble.
Didn't they accidentally (on purpose) show some replay at the 2014 WC on the screen |

Hamilton said on Saturday It's the type of anthem you expect from a country that's produced the likes of Borodin and Tchaikovsky Edited by Denis Irwin - 21 Jun 2017 at 4:06pm |

Nice stadium that game is on in. Good attendance.
Are the teams playing full sides in this tournament so far? |

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Portugal and Russia seem to be. Germany don't look like it. Not sure about the rest.

That Russian manager looks like someone from a Traveller call out video.
Russia are ordinary enough. |

Anyone watching the Mexico game?
New Zealand were well entitled to take that chance even with the Mexican player injured. One of them exaggerated another foul and even though that player was genuinely injured, I wouldn't blame New Zealand for not stopping play. |
